I took the bus yesterday to Boston. It’s one plush ride, must admit.
The girl directly across from me was a blogger and I learned a valuable lesson. It seems that not all bloggers are created equal.
The chick was meticulous! Seriously, she spent two full hours blogging. Carefully, creating content. Cross-checking. Image meshing. Word smithing, and more.
Confession: I never do that! I’ve got a strict thirty minutes or less rule for fear that I will become so obsessed that I fall into the WordPress site and possibly never return. Okay, that’s a lie. I’m afraid I won’t actually work on my novel because I’ve dithered my time away blogging. But, I’m impressed by bloggers who do.
You see, I use blogging as a writing warm-up for real work. It’s an indulgence for a writer to just blast about anything that strikes their fancy. It’s a quick word vomit. A literary fart. That’s it. That’s all.
But, this blogger. It was serious, and I for one am impressed. I did notice her domain name- Patti Runs. I know the link too, but posting it seems a tad too blog stalkerish.
But, I am so tempted…

“It’s a quick word vomit. A literary fart.” Hahahahahahahaha!! That is darn good writing, Julie.
Must admit, liked it myself. Saw you Vlog on my phone. Loved it.
I just finished a stint of some serious writing on my blog this week – serious stories, multiple genres, different voices. I did not sleep all week. Like you, blogging is a writing exercise for me each day. I am always in awe of those who can sustain it in a mammoth way.
How was Boston?
Andra,
Can’t wait to check out your blog. I’m heading there right now.
Can’t wait,
Julie
