We are midway through our April vacation and I’m moving toward a simpler form of existence. No, I’m not writing. Heck, I’m hardly even blogging. I’ll admit I did try yesterday, but my little chickies kept talking and breathing in my ear, which does a number on my creativity.
Food has been kind of a problem too. You see I never bothered to go to the grocery store, I’ve simple been doing a little food pick up here and a run to the market there. This is not the best model when you live in gluten & sugar free land, but yet it can be a reminder of past experiences. These small nods can make a crazed rainy vacation day that much more satisfying.
Two years ago this week, I was hanging out in France with all of these really cool high school kids. Yes, I scored the chaperone card! I could go on and on about this trip, but I won’t. But, I will say that the above lunch is my tribute to those long days of fun.
So, if you are feeling rather European (or you are too lazy to shop, like me) I suggest you go old school. Grab a tasty baguette and a stick of salami, cut up some Brie and a good cheddar, stick a jar of Dijon in a cutting board, and crack the wine for lunch. Enjoy!
Oh, and yes, I did buy it all at Scratch Baking Co. except for the tasty bottle of wine. Thanks Kirsten for that, it was most enjoyable.
