Pine Island, Florida

I’ve followed the Snow Birds to sunny Florida for break and luckily for me landed in Pine Island for a couple of days.

Surrounded by flowers its difficult to recall winter.

A lone lawn chair sits on a dock wait for me to pour a cold drink, so I can watch fish jump and osprey feed.

Hidden arbors encased in vine remind me of old novels and new books to read.

With nothing much to do but watch the sun set.

THANK YOU for posting such beautiful pics! It really helps when it still so white and chilly up here. :)

What a dramatic contrast to your last set of pictures! Given the choice of both venues…I’d choose Florida!

Pine Island – that’s where my Dad is for the winter! He loves it.

  4. That makes total sense! I could see him there. Why don’t you visit?

Hi Julie! Today my blog was awarded the “Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award” and as part of my receiving this award I have been asked to “pay it forward” by bestowing this award on ten of my favorite blogs. I have chosen you! I have renamed the award “The Irresistibly Brilliant Blog Award” and am so happy to share it with you. I look forward to all of your posts and love your photos so much! To learn more about the award and how you can also “Pay It Forward” check out today’s post: http://womanstoryteller.wordpress.com/2011/02/22/abundant-mind-day-23/ Blessings to you and so happy you are enjoying some sunshine! ~Melissa

Ahhh, paradise. Just got back from FLA myself. Naples. What a treat. 70′s this am to 30′s this pm. Oh well. It was swell while it lasted.

  7. I am working very hard to become a “snow bird” myself before I am too old to move. I enjoyed your pics of Florida. I lived there for a long time, but really don’t want to be there full time again – unless I could live on the water (sea, not lake!)
