Halloween is growing near and I find myself drawn to these hideous looking creatures. I want to find some good underneath their warty faces, straggly hair, and sickly pallor. I want to have them for tea. I bet they have something interesting to say, like perhaps, “Pass the snake blood and creamed eyeballs.”
As Halloween icons they’ve done well over the years. What girl hasn’t been a witch for Halloween? My favorite witch costume was when I dressed up as Mrs. Which from A Wrinkle in Time by Madleine L’Engle. I enjoyed rreeeaaaadddinnngggg heerrrr allouddd tooo chilllldreeeeen (That’s how she talks! Clevverrrrrr). Remember when she tried to land Meg and crew on the second dimension? Ouch.

The witch came for tea
Dropping snake blood in her drink
Gnarley finger stirred
What an image! My kids asked specifically if you worked your magic. They were grossed out. I love it.
