Freshly made biscuits with butter, honey, and blackberry jam.
Pancakes waiting to be served.
If only I had a bigger stomach.
Grits & Cheese & Eggs & Fresh Salsa!
My breakfast… crab cakes and eggs sunny-side up. Let me tell you, this dish was incredibly tasty. I especially loved the crispness of the crab cake against the crunch of the asparagus. The hollandaise was lemony and flavorful, the perfect topping.
If you are in Asheville run don’t walk to Tupelo Honey.

Yum. You really should be a food writer – photographer. I want to eat where you eat.
Do you know if this place will deliver to Maine? I don’t know if I am brave enough for crabcakes at breakfast, but I want a stack of those pancakes.
Thanks! I’d love to be. My teaching training doesn’t really help with that. But, I am going to be doing some food writing for One, New England. They are going to relaunch soon. I’ll keep you posted.
Yes, pancakes next time. I’d go to Asheville in a second. It’s wonderful.
Exactly what type of training would one need to become a food writer – photographer? (Seriously – I am thinking of going back to school, and would study for this in a heartbeat) Don’t sell yourself short – I think you have the skills.
I can’t wait to read what you eat next.
From all of us at Tupelo Honey, thanks! I love the photos!
Come to Maine!! Portland would love you guys!
This was really one of the best breakfasts ever, and even your great photos don’t begin to do it justice. Now if we can just learn to make grits as well as they do in Asheville…
